Four Emitters, One Unit: The Steiner DBAL-PL Pistol Light and Laser

Operators don't get to choose the lighting conditions. A call can start in a lit hallway and end in a dark stairwell, and some teams run night vision while others don't. Equipment that only works in one of those situations leaves a gap. The Steiner DBAL-PL is built to close it, and it's one of the weapon-mounted systems ROI Group carries for military and law enforcement agencies.
What the DBAL-PL Is
The DBAL-PL is a dual beam aiming laser and light that mounts on a pistol. It combines four emitters in a single compact unit:
A visible aiming laser, available in red or green
A white light LED
An IR aiming laser
An IR illuminator
Instead of carrying separate devices for white-light and night-vision use, an operator has both capabilities on the weapon, aligned and ready.
Two Modes, Built for Different Conditions
The DBAL-PL operates in two modes, each controlled by its own activation switch:
Visible mode runs the visible laser and the white light together. This is the mode for working in low light without night vision, where you need to see, identify, and aim.
IR mode runs the IR laser and the IR illuminator together. This is the mode for operators using night vision, who need an aiming reference and supplemental illumination that isn't visible to the naked eye.
The visible and IR lasers are co-aligned, so zeroing one means the other is on target too. The unit also offers fully adjustable windage and elevation, and its low-parallax design is intended to support accurate shooting.
Built for Real Use
A few details from Steiner's specifications are worth noting for agencies evaluating the unit:
Rail compatibility: It attaches to MIL-STD-1913 pistol rails.
Durability: It is built to meet MIL-STD-810G environmental testing and is waterproof to at least 5 meters.
Recoil-resistant white light: The LED is designed to hold up under the shock of firing.
Battery access: A quick-release battery cap allows battery changes without removing the unit from the weapon.
Safety classifications: The visible laser is a Class IIIa device, the IR laser is Class I, and the IR illuminator is rated eye-safe.
Made in the U.S.A.
Published range figures vary with the visible laser color and with lighting conditions, with green generally visible at longer distances than red. Steiner notes that actual range depends on conditions, so agencies should confirm performance for their own environment.
Experience Behind the Recommendation
ROI Group's past performance includes supplying dual beam aiming lasers and providing in-service training on laser integration for tactical teams. Pairing the right equipment with training on how to use it is a core part of what we do.
Availability
Steiner treats the DBAL-PL as an export-controlled product and directs defense and law enforcement purchasers to its dealer channel, so availability and ordering requirements depend on your agency and application.
